Base Preparation
For new installs, we excavate, grade, and compact a proper aggregate base — the most important step in how long your asphalt lasts.
Binder Course
The base layer of asphalt is installed and compacted thoroughly before the surface course is applied.
Surface Course
The finish layer is applied and compacted to a smooth, consistent surface with proper pitch for water drainage.
Finishing
Edges are cut clean, line striping is applied where needed, and the site is cleaned up completely before we leave.
Common Questions
How long should I wait before driving on new asphalt?
You can drive on new asphalt within 24–48 hours, but it takes 6–12 months to fully cure and harden. During the first summer, avoid parking heavy vehicles in the same spot repeatedly, and keep vehicles off the edges until the surface has fully hardened.
How often does asphalt need to be sealcoated?
Every 3–5 years, starting 6–12 months after the initial installation. Sealcoating protects against UV oxidation, water infiltration, and fuel spills — significantly extending the life of the surface. Waiting too long allows the asphalt to dry out and crack.
Can you repair sections of asphalt without replacing the whole surface?
Yes, in many cases patching and overlay is a cost-effective solution. We evaluate whether the sub-base is still intact — if it is, targeted repairs and a resurfacing overlay can add 10–15 years of life. If the base is compromised, full removal and replacement is the better long-term investment.
